Meet Nora Carpenter, your Grant Research and Writing Intern!
Nora Carpenter is gearing up for her fourth and final year at Michigan State University. Nora is a native of Kalamazoo, a place she loves for it’s proud and invested community members, arts scene, and diversity. Her early involvement in the local theater, her beloved summer camp, and her high school improv team showed Nora the value of art, play, and working with others. She carried her passion for artsy, fun communities to the Residential College in the Arts and Humanities at Michigan State University. Studying the arts and humanities for the past four years has given her the skills to approach social issues holistically, ethically, and with enthusiasm rooted in a passion for civic engagement. She is pursuing a minor in arts and cultural management and hopes to work for organizations that enrich communities and promote the arts. Nora has previously worked with theaters in Kalamazoo, East Lansing, and Washington, D.C. in areas of grant writing, board work, and strategic planning. She is thrilled to be working on grant writing and research for The Firecracker Foundation this summer and hopes to learn a lot.
