Mental Health Therapy

Your community’s generosity has allowed us to contract therapists to provide consistent, quality therapy to children, and their families, who have experienced sexual trauma.

Contracted therapists facilitate individual therapy sessions for child survivors between the ages of 3 and 17 and caretaker support group sessions for their parents and guardians. Sessions are held either at The Firecracker Foundation or in the safety and security of a contracted therapist’s existing practice location. Each client participates in a clinical assessment that will help their therapist develop a treatment plan that may include:

  • Weekly individual therapy sessions
  • Trauma-focused therapeutic groups for children, adolescents, and families
  • Play therapy for children ages 3 – 18 as appropriate
  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children and adolescents when appropriate
  • Caretaker support group sessions

Contracted therapists and yoga instructors collaborate with The Firecracker Foundation and maintain all confidential service records and case notes for beneficiaries. Once a therapist is successfully matched with a client, they are committed to that beneficiary until the close of their initial treatment plan.

Service providers and legal guardians can refer a child who does not have medical insurance, cannot afford their copay or is ineligible for therapeutic services through other community programs.

To refer a client for Firecracker programs call 517-742-7224 or complete Permission to Contact form and return it to 2450 Delhi Commerce Dr. #9 Holt, MI 48842. Every inquiry will receive a response within 48 hours. You may also email questions to info@thefirecrackerfoundation.org.
