Live in Solidarity echoed through the crowd at Stargazing 2015, as your Survivor Keynote Lauren Manston- Domino shared her story as a survivor of sexual assault. Stargazing 2015 was the second year anniversary of The Firecracker Foundation and the turnout was incredible! Thank you to those who attended, helped, and supported the Firecracker children and families as they heal.
Here are a few pictures to recap what an amazing event it was:
“The perpetrators of these crimes don’t just wound and take something from the one they raped, but also from all who love the survivors.” – Lauren Manston-Domino
“Those of us who advocate for survivors and are ourselves survivors need support too. I think the most difficult thing about my journey was feeling a sense of responsibility to stop all trauma from happening to others. For some reason, survivors feel that they are the ones who “owe it” to other survivors to help them heal and prevent someone else from being another statistic.” – Lauren Manston-Domino
After Lauren shared her survivor story, her family and friends embraced her with love. Having your own personal community, who care and love you, makes all the difference.
The brightest star is the one that shines in the benefit of others and many of you chose to do just that by becoming a volunteer. You light up the community!
