Today you can help us welcome a new voice to The Firecracker Foundation.
Maggie Lasley is a recent graduate from Columbia College Chicago. After some experimentation in college (studying Journalism and Elementary Education), Maggie found herself looking for a better way to shed light on current social issues. She turned to Public Relations hoping to use social media and communication to bring awareness to area non-profits and social enterprises.
Since graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing Communications in December 2013, Maggie has returned to her hometown of Grand Rapids to pursue a career in non-profit communications. She has worked at Hope Network teaching adults with mental and physical disabilities valuable life skills and currently works in Sales and Promotions at GR Birthday Deals, LLC.
Maggie is the mother of two 90 lbs. fur babies, Scooter and Coda. She enjoys hiking, yoga, and watching as many episodes on Netflix in one night as humanly possible.
In the future, Maggie hopes to be the Director of Public Relations for a non-profit organization that advocates for mental health, child welfare, education, or animal rights issues. She kind of wants to do it all.
Maggie has already begun organizing, planning and color coding to keep you posted on all foundation updates, inspirations and programs.
Now that you’ve met her, take a moment to leave her an encouraging note welcoming her to your team of survivors and advocates.
